About Me

Christina Binaghi is in the New Pathways to Teaching program at NJCU. She currently teaches Computer Art, Coding, and Family and Consumer Management at the Community High School in Teaneck, NJ. She is also the school’s Marketing Coordinator and Women’s High School Basketball Coach.

After receiving her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Advertising and Interactive Digital Design from Quinnipiac University in 2006, she worked for various advertising agencies in New York and New Jersey before embracing the role of stay at home mom to her three children. When re-entering the workforce, she wanted to pursue a career that was fulfilling and allowed her to make an impact on other people’s lives. Teaching found her and she has never been happier. This Jill of all trades has worked her way across a variety of industries from advertising to farming, aerial yoga and ballet instructor to what she says is her calling as special education teacher. Far from a master of none, she feels the roles of mom, teacher, and designer suit her best.

Christina has always been naturally gifted on the computer. She recalls going to computer shows on the weekends with her dad and having the nuns at her grade school pull her from class to help them navigate the computer. She’s always been torn between the technical side of computer science and the creative side. Christina greatest strengths are in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Although at first she turned her nose up to Canva, she is starting to embrace how user friendly it is for the general population.

When Christina is not at school, she enjoys reading, running, yoga, playing pickleball, hiking, and spending time outdoors. She considers herself a lifelong learner and is always trying to surround herself with people and places that help her flourish in her creative abilities.
